HEIMFORTH WEALTH MANAGEMENT
In 1994-5, while functioning as a
consultant to business, real estate and tax clients, the firm's founder,
Doug Heimforth, began receiving requests to provide fee-only personal
financial advisory services. As a result he developed the concept and
moniker of the
Personal
Financial Coachsm.
The
PFC
principle is
to
impart value by providing a breadth of
financial expertise and
guidance,
specific to each client, and delivered using a "coach
approach," i.e., sitting alongside the client. During this early
period, fees were on an hourly or project basis.
In 1996, Doug recognized that many clients' were not implementing their
financial plans. This was mostly the result of the client having neither
adequate time,
inclination
nor adequate technical expertise to take action. As a result,
HWM formally began
providing
comprehensive wealth management services on a retained basis, as an independent
Registered Investment Advisor (RIA).
Since then, as clients' have
accomplished goals and achievee some financial peace of mind,
attention has shifted to helping
them:
(a) identify, refine and live their lives out of core values
(b) find strategies and tactics to live their life visions, i.e., what do you
really want to do?
(c) begin work on their legacies.
Location:
At the beginning of 2007, after many years of having an office location in Los
Altos, California, HWM became a virtual advisory firm. The evolution
of technology has enhanced the ability to deliver service through better phone,
fax and online capabilities. In this era when time really matters, this
provides an ease of access and communication that can be very rewarding.
Of course, nothing will replace face-to-face meetings, which Doug continues to
insist upon having periodically.
Most of the time now, when not
visiting clients or friends in California or off on a fact-finding mission, Doug
works out of his home office in Boise, Idaho
